I’m sure you’ve wondered before, what makes someone fall in love with you? What are the factors make it more likely that someone will be smitten with you? Is it because they have a similar personality to yours or is it because of the things you do? Having worked with more than 10,000 singles over 27 years, Professional Matchmaker Linda Prescott has all the secrets.
Reasons Someone Might Fall in Love with You
If you play hard to get
A 2014 study found that men in a speed-dating experiment wanted a woman more when she played hard to get. Okay, not so hard to get that your love interest thinks you’re just not interested but enough to initiate that “chase”.
Try this: No matter how much you feel like your date is the perfect one for you, take it easy, go on more dates before you come clean about how you feel. It’s also less rushed and looks like you’ve thought it through. However, there is nothing wrong with telling your date you enjoy their company.
Your facial expression
According to a 2011 experiment published in the National Library of Medicine, men rated women most attractive when they looked happy. but beware, they rated women least attractive when they displayed pride.
Women, on the other hand, rated men most attractive when they displayed pride and least attractive when they looked happy. Funny, huh? Interestingly, shame was ranked pretty attractive in both men and women.
Your hand gestures and posture
It’s time to get moving, people! Literally. In one 2016 study involving men and women in speed-dating sessions revealed that people were twice as likely to say that they wanted to see the people who moved their hands and arms, compared to dates who sat still. The same study also showed that people who had a more open posture are selected more often than those with contractive postures.
Try this: Use more hand gestures when you are communicating with your date. Avoid crossing your arms and hunching your back. Instead, keep a good straight posture and “open” up your arms.
You’re both compatible with each other
When two people are really compatible, they can really connect. At Ideal, Linda and the team work hard to ensure that the matches are compatible because compatibility is the building block of a relationship.
Try this exercise: Ask yourself,
• Do you have similar values and beliefs about the world?
• Do you have fun together? Can you be spontaneous? Do you think your partner’s hot? Do you like to travel together?
• Does each person think the other is bright? Are you good at solving problems together? If the answer is yes, there is a good chance, Love is on it’s way.
