Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, 1 – 30 Sep
Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers returns to the ‘Garden City’ in spring for 30 days of flowers, flavours and fun, showcasing more than 190,000 flowers in full bloom across Toowoomba’s beautiful parks and public spaces. The two major feature displays of bulbs and flowering annuals are located at the Botanic Gardens, Queens Park (cnr Lindsay and Campbell Streets, Toowoomba) and Laurel Bank Park (50 Hill Street, Toowoomba).

World of Wine, 19 Sep
Join Treasury Brisbane for a special edition wine tasting event World of Wine with partners Samuel Smith & Son and Negociants Australia as they present their 2022 New Release Tastings featuring Brokenwood, Christobel’s, Heggies Vineyard, Jansz, Jim Barry, La Vieille Ferme, Mt Difficulty, Pewsey Vale, Vasse Felix, Wirra Wirra, Yalumba, Antinori, Ata Rangy, Bleasdale, Bordegas Valdemar, Dandelion Vineyards, Domaine Faiveley, Freycinet Vineyard, Fromm and Hay Shed Hill.

Chiharu Shiota The Soul Trembles, now until 3 Oct
Curated by Mami Kataoka, Director of Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, ‘Chiharu Shiota: The Soul Trembles’ is the largest solo exhibition of the artist’s work to date. She’s renowned internationally for her transformative, large-scale installations constructed from millions of fine threads that cluster in space or form complex webs that spill from wall to floor to ceiling, and it’s all right here in Brisbane!

Grease Sing-A-Long, 8 October
Calling all Grease fans! Here’s your chance to sing along to one of the greatest musicals of all time and enjoy a night straight out of the Grease era. While you’re there, check out the replica 1950’s diner, complete with Cadillac couches, movie icons, a juke box and an original drive-in menu. You’ll need the FM radio in your car or portable radio to tune into movie audio. This is perfect for that chilled and fun date night. What a great way to get to know your date (and maybe discover their singing talent!).

Blackout The Show, 14 & 15 Oct
Blackout The Show will make its world premiere at the Judith Wright Arts Centre, Fortitude Valley with 4 performances only, on October 14 and 15, 2022. Blackout combines the power of theatre with the world of modern circus, featuring Australia’s finest singers and dancers, street performers, and the cool kids from circus school. Witness an inspiring story unfold with spectacular aerial acrobatics, illuminated cube juggling, and groundbreaking choreography.

Barktoberfest, 15 Oct
Dog lovers, you might not want to miss Barktoberfest, the popular pooch focussed market this Spring. The Carseldine Markets at Dorville Road will have all sorts of activities and stalls including, Puppy portraits, canine catwalk and Strike a Paws fashion parade, pawprazzi photo contest, competitions and prizes, hundreds of animal focussed market stalls, with speciality businesses tailored for doggos, arts and crafts, and gourmet food for pets and people.

Mary Poppins, from 22 Oct
Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins is set to soar into Brisbane’s Lyric Theatre, QPAC from October 22, 2022. This magical stage adaptation of the wonderful stories by Queensland-born author PL Travers comes with dazzling choreography, incredible effects, and unforgettable songs, featuring the story of the world’s favourite Nanny arriving on Cherry Tree Lane. And to make it even more special, this will be a theatrical homecoming for Stefanie Jones as Mary Poppins and Jack Chambers as Bert, who both hail from Brisbane and first performed together as children in The Sound of Music in their home city.
